Air France ends Nice, Toulouse and Marseille flights from Orly Airport

Paris Orly Airport will no longer be served by Air France flights to Nice, Toulouse and Marseille.

Today, Orly Airport has become a favourite among travellers, posting record passenger numbers. This is due to the presence of numerous low-cost airlines and easier access from Paris via Metro Line 14. However, changes are coming to the Orly tarmac from 29 March 2026.

From the end of March, Air France will stop operating routes from Orly Airport to Nice, Toulouse and Marseille. Travellers departing from southern Paris will need to turn to other airlines. Transavia and easyJet are both seeking a share of this market and competing to attract this strategically important business clientele.

Air France leaves Orly

Air France has decided to focus its efforts on Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport in Roissy, north of the capital. As a result, from 29 March 2026, the French airline will no longer fly from Orly Airport to Nice, Toulouse or Marseille. This represents a real opportunity for Transavia and easyJet.

Passengers who regularly used the routes Air France has just dropped are predominantly business travellers. Winning over these customers will undoubtedly be highly valuable for rival airlines.

Transavia flights from Orly to Nice, Toulouse and Marseille

Transavia, Air France’s low-cost subsidiary, will operate eight daily flights to Nice and Toulouse, while two flights a day will take passengers to Marseille. The airline is focusing on flexibility to appeal to prospective customers, offering the “Max fare”, which allows them to change their flight on the same day up to one hour before departure. This is especially useful for business passengers. A dedicated passenger process and a reserved lounge are two further advantages that Transavia is keen to promote.

easyJet competes for Air France customers at Orly

easyJet is also making a major effort. The low-cost airline is stepping up its offering with nine flights to Nice and seven services to Toulouse. Unfortunately, it will not serve Marseille. To win over travellers, easyJet is offering a 50% discount on an annual easyJet Plus membership for people coming from the Flying Blue programme who hold Air France cards. They will then benefit from priority boarding and the option to take a cabin bag, helping the airline match the level of service offered by Air France.

The fight to win customers on routes to Nice, Toulouse and Marseille is taking place against an unfavourable backdrop. Competition from high-speed TGV trains, among other factors, has caused traffic to Nice to fall by 14.9%; traffic to Toulouse has dropped by 35.9%, while Marseille is down 28.8%. Despite these poor figures, business passengers remain valuable to Orly Airport and the airlines.
