Having been the best-selling model in September, the Tesla Model Y vanished entirely from Europe’s list of the 50 best-selling cars in October (source: DataForce). The Dacia Sandero reclaimed first place, with 20,480 registrations, despite a 7.6% decline.

The Volkswagen T-Roc followed after posting a remarkable 25.9% increase, reaching 18,241 units - the largest rise in the Top 10. The Renault Clio retained third place with 16,896 units, recording marginal growth of 0.7%.

Sales among the next models were closely matched: the Volkswagen Golf registered 16,261 units (-2.7%), while the Toyota Yaris Cross totalled 16,181 (-2.9%).

In sixth place, the Volkswagen Tiguan saw a steeper 21.1% fall to 15,632 units. The Peugeot 208, in seventh, recorded the biggest contraction in the Top 10, down 24.8% with 15,256 sales. In contrast, the Peugeot 2008 reversed the trend, growing by 25% and moving beyond 15,000 units.

Completing the Top 10, the Skoda Octavia recorded 14,697 units (+1.8%), while the Toyota Yaris reached 14,360 (-10.7%).

Notable changes outside the Top 10

Outside the Top 10, several results stand out, including those of the Opel Frontera (+12,750%), Renault 5 E-Tech (+581.8%), Citroën C3 Aircross (+519.6%), Audi A5 (+348%) and BMW X3 (+101.8%).

Conversely, models such as the Toyota C-HR (-22.8%), BMW X1 (-20.1%) and Ford Kuga (-19.6%) experienced the most significant declines.

Where does the Sandero stand year to date?

For the year to date, the Dacia Sandero remains in first position with 207,043 units sold in Europe, despite an 8.3% drop.

The Renault Clio and Volkswagen T-Roc have swapped places in second and third, respectively, with 187,371 units (4.3%) and 179,071 units (4.5%).

Looking at the 50 best-selling cars in Europe over the year to date, the Volkswagen ID.3 (+40.7%), MG ZS (31.4%) and Peugeot 3008 (30%) stand out for their substantial sales growth.

Despite its October result, the Tesla Model Y remains the model with the sharpest decline, at 29.2%, followed by the Tesla Model 3 (-28.9%).
