Ribeirão Pires City Hall, through its Department of Culture, stood out at the Caixa Preta Festival 2026 thanks to the participation of the Dance Department from the Ribeirão Pires Municipal School of Arts (EMARP). Held last Sunday (16) in São Caetano do Sul, the event celebrates Black artists, diversity and the power of art in its many forms.

Among 110 choreographies presented in this edition, EMARP’s dancers earned significant accolades. The piece “Serpentes” took 1st place in the Senior Jazz category and was also awarded the Breakthrough Choreography Prize. “Magalenha”, meanwhile, secured 3rd place in the Senior Free Style category. EMARP also received the Social Impact Award.

Guided by teacher and choreographer Ruthiana Rosa, the dancers brought talent, commitment and representation to the stage. “It was a very special experience for our dancers. We are extremely pleased with the results and, above all, with the opportunity to represent EMARP and Ribeirão Pires. It recognises all the work and dedication of the students,” Ruthiana said.

The result adds to the successful record of “Serpentes”. The choreography had already won 1st place at Petipá Fest Dance, gaining another important honour for the work developed by the dancers and choreographer Ruthiana Rosa.
